Screening Near Seminyak: Where to Book Your Bali MCU
If you are staying in Seminyak and want a full-body medical
check-up in Bali, the reliable option is to be screened at an accredited
facility in the Sanur health zone — a 30 to 50 minute drive across south
Bali — with transport arranged so the whole screening fits into one
morning. Seminyak is a beach, dining and lifestyle district
rather than a hospital area, so a comprehensive medical check-up (MCU)
with full blood panels, imaging, cardiac testing and a doctor
consultation is done at a properly equipped centre nearby, then you are
back in Seminyak the same day.
This guide explains where to book a check-up when Seminyak is your
base, what the short cross-town trip involves, and how to arrange it
without giving up your holiday. As the medical advisor for Bali Medical Checkup, I coordinate screenings for guests
staying across the island’s south, and Seminyak is one of the most
frequent bases.
Who this is for
If you are a holidaymaker, a couple on a resort break, a long-stay
visitor, or a digital nomad enjoying Seminyak’s cafés and beaches and
now want a preventive screening while you are here, this is written for
you. A full-body MCU is a screening tool, not a
diagnosis — its role is to surface early signals in your blood sugar,
cholesterol, organ function or an imaging finding so that you and your
own doctor can act early. For the full scope of a comprehensive
screening, see our pillar page on the full-body medical check-up in
Bali.
Why Seminyak itself
isn’t a check-up hub
Seminyak is well served by clinics and pharmacies for everyday travel
needs, but a full-body MCU requires more than a walk-in clinic can
offer. Comprehensive screening depends on an accredited laboratory,
ultrasound and X-ray imaging, cardiac equipment and physicians who read
the results together — a concentration of facilities that sits in the
larger centres nearer Sanur and Denpasar. The Sanur area is now the
anchor of Indonesia’s first health special economic zone (KEK Sanur),
inaugurated with Bali International Hospital in June 2025. Our Sanur health zone page covers the
area and how screening there works.
The travel plan from
Seminyak
Seminyak sits on the west coast, while the main screening facilities
are toward the south-east near Sanur — roughly 15 to 20 kilometres,
which in Bali traffic is usually 30 to 50 minutes. Because MCU
appointments start early while you are fasting, the sensible plan
is:
- Leave Seminyak early, before mid-morning traffic,
with a driver arranged in advance. - Complete the screening across the morning: fasting
bloods first, then imaging, ECG and the doctor consult. - Break your fast at the facility once the bloods are
drawn. - Return to Seminyak by lunchtime or early
afternoon.
Because the only real friction is the cross-town drive, we arrange
door-to-door hotel transport as part of the concierge
service, so you are not organising a driver while fasting.
What a
full-body check-up near Seminyak includes
The structure of a legitimate MCU is the same wherever you are based.
A standard package covers a doctor-led history and physical exam, a
panel of blood tests (complete blood count, fasting glucose and HbA1c, a
full lipid profile, and liver, kidney and thyroid function), a
urinalysis, a resting ECG, an abdominal ultrasound, a chest X-ray, and a
closing consultation where a physician explains your results. Higher
tiers add cardiac imaging, tumour markers and specialist reviews. For a
component-by-component breakdown, see what’s included in a
full-body check-up.
Picking a tier before
your appointment
Choosing your package ahead of time keeps the morning efficient. Our
comparison of basic vs
executive vs deluxe check-ups and the packages pillar page help you
match a package to your age and risk, and realistic figures are set out
on our cost guide.
Fasting and morning
logistics
Most comprehensive screenings ask for 8 to 12 hours of fasting,
mainly for accurate glucose and lipid readings. From Seminyak that just
means finishing dinner the night before and travelling on water only.
Bring your current medications and a list of what you take — most are
continued as normal, but timing around fasting bloods should be
confirmed with the provider first. Our preparation
guide explains fasting, medications and what to bring.
Getting your results after
you leave
You do not need to wait near the facility for results. Basic blood
work and imaging are often summarised the same day or the next, while
specialised tests can take a few days, and digital copies are typically
emailed. That means you can be back on the beach in Seminyak — or
already home — when the full report arrives. Our blog on how long
health screening results take gives realistic timelines.
Screening as a
couple or on a resort break
Seminyak draws a lot of couples and short-break travellers, and a
screening slots neatly into that. Two people can often be screened the
same morning, sharing one trip across town. If that describes your stay,
our expats and
tourists pillar page covers tight-schedule, one-day screening, and
the concierge can coordinate a joint appointment.
Questions Seminyak
guests commonly ask
“Is there a good clinic in Seminyak for a full
check-up?” Seminyak’s clinics are excellent for everyday travel
medicine, but a genuine full-body MCU needs the imaging, cardiac and lab
equipment concentrated near Sanur. We arrange the short transfer so
location isn’t a barrier.
“How much of my day will it take?” With an early
start and pre-arranged transport, most guests are back in Seminyak by
early afternoon.
“What if a result looks off?” A screen that flags a
concern is doing its job. The finding goes to a doctor, who decides
whether further assessment is needed. Nothing here is a diagnosis, and
we do not provide treatment — but a clear, accredited report puts you in
the strongest position to act with your own physician.
